The palette has been taken from the star ferry and nautical world. As for the materials, different types of wood have been selected (tubular teak wood for the island, walnut veneer on cabinets), touches of brass for finish (skirtings, tap and handles) and a mineral looking corian for the countertops.

As a whole, the kitchen brings out a simple look and a subtile balance between contemporary and old fashioned mid century styles.
